Thompson Brain & Mind Healthcare (TBMH) is a not-for-profit mental health organisation established on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland with a vision to reconceptualise mental healthcare at a community level. 


Our mission is to minimise the burden of mental illness through personalised care and world-class treatment. Founded on a commitment to pioneering research and precision medicine, we strive to harness the potential of technology and innovation to deliver improved patient outcomes.

TBMH founded on the Sunshine Coast Queensland.

June 2022

TMBH secure land on the Sunshine Coast’s Health Precinct in Birtinya.

September 2022

TBMH commences design phase of its mental health clinical facility.

Thompson Brain & Mind Healthcare will deliver a new mental health clinical facility to the Sunshine Coast’s Health Precinct in Birtinya.

This facility will offer a world-first approach in mental health treatment, leveraging pioneering technologies and clinical research that benefits both patients and the community.


With a primary focus on translating research discoveries into real-world treatments for people suffering from mental health conditions, the facility will be equipped with the latest technology and equipment, including advanced brain imaging and diagnostic tools.

An eight-storey mental health hospital offering the latest treatments is being planned for the Sunshine Coast’s growing health hub, with the help of wealthy philanthropists.

Project Urban: TBMH – New mental health treatment facility at Birtinya

Project Urban recently assisted Thompson Brain and Mind Healthcare (TBMH) to obtain master planning approval and provide survey services for their new mental health treatment and research facility at the Birtinya health hub.
